BLOG: What a finish to an interesting year..

I would like to make just a small post here before Christmas and New years to say a very big warm thank you to all who have supported me over the last few years and especially this last year. It has been a year with quite a lot of disappointments but this time I have something which I haven’t had before.. and that is my first international title. Incredible feeling to have winning at home and this is a feeling I will work incredibly hard to get more and more in 2013.

BLOG: Another tough period but still pushing to make things better..

After my injection back in March, I sat down and made a tough training program physically and on court in the lead up to the European championships. The last 2 times I have played in the Europeans I have made the quarterfinal both times so it is a tournament I enjoy and seem to play well at. Unfortunately this year was different. After what I felt was a great training period where I worked very hard in every aspect of my game to then suddenly playing 1 of the worst matches I have played all year was tough for me. I couldn’t understand it at all and I was so frustrated. Nothing went right for me during the match and I could not get into the game at all.

BLOG: 7th National Title

Just back from winning my 7th national singles title in a row. I love winning this tournament and i will be going after the record thats for sure. I heard while i was in Ireland for the weekend that the record was 8 so i will be going for that next year!!

BLOG: A new year and a new man…

Well I am very glad that 2011 is over after having a tough year regarding badminton. I certainly think I had a bad year and I was glad to go into 2012. 1 of the major bad periods for me was in November when I received a black card in a quarterfinal match in Norway.

BLOG: Norwegian and Scottish Open

Hey again, Well Norway was an interesting tournament for me. I went into the tournament with an ok feeling. My feeling wasn’t fantastic but it was not bad either. I had the feeling that once I started the tournament and got into it everything would be alright as I had been training quite well up to Norway. I won my first round match against Etu Heino who I lost to the last time we played. It was a tough match as I didn’t play close to my best and he is a difficult player to play against. I won in 2 sets and close in both which was good and that gave me some confidence.

BLOG: Apologies again for the lack of writing..

Well it has again been some time since i last wrote a blog.. i guess im getting good at leaving quite a bit of time between each blog.
